Bishopston Books is a small, general bookshop. Some 15,000 books are housed in a late Victorian terraced building, which was for most of the 20th century an undertakers business. The present business dates from 1994.

As an interesting literary association, the Christian names of the first owner of the building - in 1880 - were 'Horatio Hornblower'.

The present incumbent, Bill Singleton, has been involved with the second hand book trade for some 20 years. His business philosophy is to provide a friendly, personal service for his local community; and for his online customers, as friendly and personal as is possible!
